Integrated Learning and Service

Conducts interdisciplinary research and scholarship through dedicated centers focused on gerontology, adolescent and young adult development, and reading/writing instruction, serving as a clearinghouse for research on psychological, social, cultural, educational, and health-related issues.

Tracks and reports key academic and post-graduation outcomes including graduation rates, retention rates, graduate school enrollment, employment outcomes, NCLEX pass rates for nursing graduates, and federal student loan cohort default rates to assess program effectiveness and institutional performance.

Offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs grounded in the liberal arts and Catholic intellectual tradition, preparing students for careers or advanced studies. Programs include majors in professional fields such as business, nursing, education, and cybersecurity, and are designed to meet state accreditation and licensure requirements.

Provides a forum for discussion of contemporary ethical issues and promotes dialogue between Catholic and Jewish communities as part of its mission commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion guided by Dominican values.

Offers summer camps for students ages 6–18 focused on academics, athletics, and personal development; conducts new student orientation sessions; and maintains historical archives documenting the college’s people, traditions, campus, and Dominican heritage for access by the campus and public.

Operates a Pre-K through grade 8 school on campus serving students in honors, gifted, special education, and learning disability programs, while providing field experience opportunities for the college’s education students.

Offers on-campus and online certificate programs in fields including cybersecurity, IT, TESOL, Gifted Education, Digital Forensics, Ethical Hacking, Networking, Web Programming, and CASAC preparation, as well as accelerated 4+1 and 5-year combined bachelor’s and master’s programs. These programs prepare students for certification exams and specialized professional roles.

Provides room and board in newly built or recently renovated residence halls for approximately 900 students, supporting student life and campus engagement.

Maintains relationships with colleges, universities, and advanced scholarship programs in Zambia and internationally to facilitate student access to higher education and leadership development opportunities. Also supported a graduate who earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Agronomy with honors from EARTH University in Costa Rica.

Provides KF scholars with one-on-one mentoring, required community service projects addressing local needs in education, literacy, public health, and environmental concerns, and internship opportunities during Grades 10 and 12 at organizations aligned with their career interests to build professional skills and leadership capacity.

Offers full scholarships covering tuition, books, school supplies, boarding fees, uniforms, examination fees, extra academic lessons, mentoring, community service, internships, and college counseling to academically promising but financially disadvantaged students in Zambia to access private secondary education. The program has achieved a 98% secondary school graduation rate among scholars.

Supports KF scholars in pursuing university education, including international programs, with college counseling and ongoing post-enrollment support. 100% of KF alumni have attended college or university—earning over $6.3 million in scholarships—and are transitioning into professional careers, with 51% of those in higher education being female compared to less than 3% among their Zambian peers.

Engages in research across cyber and homeland security, alternative energy, desert and water management, global health, medical technologies, high-tech and robotics, Israel studies, and Jewish thought. Specific projects include tire-to-liquid-fuel technology, pico-satellite development for national security, agricultural robotics, and breakthroughs in diabetes treatment using alpha1-antitrypsin.

Provides physics and math education to approximately 10,000 high school and middle school students annually in the Negev region through hands-on learning and enrichment programs. Also operates a tutoring program pairing university students with K–12 students for weekly academic support.

Organizes public events in the United States and Israel to promote Ben-Gurion University, including lectures, gatherings, and cultural programs such as “Beyond Start-up Nation,” “David Ben-Gurion: A Personal Story,” and the BGU Global Community and Board of Governors Gathering.

Manages the Marcus Family Campus at the northern entrance of Beer-Sheva and the Sde Boker Campus located 30 miles south near David Ben-Gurion's gravesite. Also operates the Ilan Ramon Youth Physics Center and Wadi Mashash experimental farm, where olive trees are planted.

Conducts educational programs, events, and digital and print communications to promote Ben-Gurion University’s faculty, research, and mission to U.S. and international audiences.

Offers free, pre-arranged campus tours to visitors through the Visitors Unit and supports alumni engagement, such as Dr. Daniel Elbo Arama, who apply their BGU education in emergency response and medical practice.
