Conducts public education initiatives focused on suicide prevention targeting young adults and adults.

Operates a licensed outpatient clinic offering diagnostic and treatment services for individuals with psychiatric disabilities, including psychiatric evaluation, medication therapy, individual and group therapy, and psychological assessments.

Provides recovery-oriented psychiatric rehabilitation for adults over 18, including recovery-focused classes and individualized recovery planning with assigned counselors.

Offers community-wide prevention programs including QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) suicide prevention training to schools, businesses, and organizations, as well as awareness and coping resources on suicide and addiction.

Provides ongoing, structured support groups such as the "Connections" program and an 8-week support group in Sayville for individuals grieving the loss of a loved one to suicide or overdose. These groups offer a safe space for emotional recovery and peer support.

Supplies hot or warm meals to participants during support group sessions in the Connections Program, supporting their emotional and physical well-being during recovery from loss due to suicide or drug overdose.

Operates an Action Center and engages volunteer advocates to inform the public and educate legislators on federal, state, and local suicide prevention policies.

Operates volunteer programs across six areas including education, fundraising, public policy, and Out of the Darkness Walks, and engages volunteers to raise awareness about mental health and suicide prevention.

Funds research to improve suicide prevention interventions and supports training programs for clinicians in suicide prevention.

Provides resources and guidance on how to talk to someone struggling with mental health, including recommendations to seek referrals from primary care providers.

Operates the Safe Storytelling Studio to train and support media professionals in producing accurate and safe portrayals of suicide and mental health.

Operates local chapters offering programs and events in all 50 states, Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico, reaching 1.67 million people annually.

Provides access to crisis services, directs individuals to the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, offers safety planning and recovery resources for suicide attempt survivors, and maintains directories to help locate mental health professionals.

Offers mental health resources and Toolbox Talks tailored for integration into meetings in the construction industry to promote mental wellness and suicide prevention.

Offers educational programs for professionals and the public, including tailored modules for veterans, Latinx and Hispanic communities, and corrections staff, along with resources for parents on youth suicide risk.

Provides support groups, healing guides in English and Spanish, the Lifekeeper Memory Quilts program, and hosts summits and events for suicide loss survivors to connect and heal.

Operates the Suicide Bereavement Clinician Training program to equip mental health professionals with specialized skills to support suicide loss survivors.

Provides free, confidential, and anonymous 24-hour crisis support via telephone hotline to individuals in acute emotional distress. The service is available year-round and is staffed by trained volunteers.
