Hosts professional and community-focused events, including walking tours and networking gatherings, that combine civic themes with real estate and financial history to engage members and guests.

Engages members in charitable activities including donations of time and money, community improvement projects, and partnerships with like-minded organizations to support civic enrichment in New York.

Advocates for property rights and promotes programs to enhance the real estate business climate in New York State, while advancing public understanding of real estate professionals' contributions.

Provides access to dental insurance plans for members and their employees through a partnership with Delta Dental.

Administers the GCAR Community Outreach Fund and awards a $3,000 grant to a 501(c)(3) organization selected by the Good Neighbor Award recipient. Plans and recommends distributions for community, civic, and charitable programs.

Distributes required forms including the NYS Fair Housing and Anti-Discrimination Form, Fair Housing Disclosure Form, and Fair Housing Notice for display in offices. Provides standardized operating procedure templates and guidance on compliance with state laws, including the Standard Operating Procedures Law, and requires member websites to link to the Department of State’s Fair Housing Notice.

Conducts advocacy at local, state, and federal levels by monitoring government issues, maintaining relationships with elected officials, lobbying for policies that benefit real estate professionals and property owners, and reviewing legislative developments. Regularly meets with members to discuss real estate business issues.

Provides educational seminars, continuing education courses, skill training, and community outreach seminars for real estate professionals through live, virtual, and in-person formats, including an annual trade show with speakers and sponsors. These programs are coordinated by the Education Coordinator and delivered via the Real Estate Professionals Institute.

Offers a structured membership program requiring an active NY real estate license, application, dues payment, and orientation. Provides services including multiple listing, lockbox access, market statistics via the monthly Market Indicators report, and access to analytics and custom-branded reporting through the Realtors Property Resource platform.

Supports the REALTORS® Political Action Committee (RPAC) by increasing member participation, fundraising, and advocacy. Contributes to political candidates based on their support for homeownership and private property rights, regardless of party affiliation, and supports lawmakers at all levels who align with REALTOR® issues.

Enforces professional standards through a Grievance Committee that evaluates ethics and arbitration complaints, a Professional Standards Committee that conducts hearings, and mediation services aligned with the REALTOR® Code of Ethics. Offers both formal arbitration and mediation as dispute resolution options.

Brings together individuals in the real estate industry to support and promote common professional goals and interests.

Assists local authorities in planning, zoning, and developing facilities and locations suitable for industrial and office development.

Cooperates with New York state, provincial, and local agencies to support industrial and office real estate activities, including assisting SIOR officers in qualifying applicants for membership.

Processes formal ethics complaints from REALTORS® and the public through a Professional Standards system that ensures fairness, confidentiality, and due process, resulting in education or disciplinary action as appropriate.
