Integrated Supportive Services

Provides supportive social services to residents of single-room occupancy (SRO) low-income housing projects.

Performs home healthcare screenings to determine eligibility for in-home services for individuals with chronic health conditions, supporting access to long-term care resources.

Provides showers, restrooms, laundry facilities, haircuts, foot care, and distribution of blankets, hygiene kits, and clean clothing through the Refresh Spot and shelter operations to support dignity and health.

Offers job training and placement, financial literacy education, legal assistance, housing placement, transportation support, help securing identification, and access to SSI benefits through coordinated case management and workshops.

Provides integrated medical, dental, mental health, and substance use counseling services on-site, including maternal and nutritional support, medication reinstatement, vision screenings, and care coordination for Medicaid patients with chronic conditions.

Conducts intake and check-in for guests, including orientation and documentation; ensures safety through overnight monitoring and floor supervision; maintains facilities via cleaning crews, minor repairs, and inventory management of donated goods.

Operates a 96-bed men's shelter in Buffalo's East Side, with capacity to expand by 80 emergency beds during periods of extreme cold (Code Blue conditions). The shelter provides overnight accommodations and integrated support services.

Runs a harm reduction van that distributes clean syringes, overdose prevention supplies, and provides nonjudgmental support to people who use drugs; also offers community-based HIV testing services.

Serves hot breakfast and dinner daily to shelter residents through in-house meal preparation, supported by food donation logistics and coordination. Kitchen operations include food service and sanitation.

Hosts Erie County DMV services including driver’s license and ID renewals, vehicle registration, and permit testing; provides assistance with Medicaid applications through the Department of Social Services.

Develops, constructs, and operates affordable housing units across the South Bronx, including over 6,000 units in approximately 450 buildings, with individual projects ranging from 32 to 429 units. Projects include both new construction and rehabilitation of properties, many under federal programs such as HUD Section 8 and Section 202.

Operates two homeless shelters under contract with the NYC Department of Homeless Services and two senior citizen centers under contract with the NYC Department for the Aging, providing targeted housing and support services for vulnerable populations.

Plans and constructs new affordable housing developments, such as La Madre Landing in Central New York and a 52-unit community with a mix of one- and two-bedroom apartments, including units specifically designed for individuals with disabilities.

Supports resident quality of life by operating community rooms, hosting social events such as holiday dinners and bingo, organizing weekly grocery transportation, and facilitating access to meals and social services.

Manages over 3,100 affordable housing units across 68 properties in New York State, serving seniors, families, and individuals with low income. Projects are developed and managed from concept through completion, tailored to local community needs.

Operates multiple senior housing properties across New York State under the HUD Section 202/8 HAP program, offering rent subsidies set at 30% of residents’ monthly adjusted income for individuals aged 62 and older or those with mobility impairments.

Administers Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) programs to provide rental assistance for over 1,300 low-income families in Onondaga County, enabling access to affordable and stable housing.

Offers integrated supportive housing units for individuals with mental health diagnoses and intellectual or developmental disabilities, including accessible units for those with mobility, hearing, or vision impairments. Provides access to on-site service coordinators, social workers, Meals on Wheels, and other support services.
