Extended Learning Time

Provides a college preparatory academic program for students in grades Kindergarten through 8th grade, focused on building academic knowledge, habits, and mindsets. The program emphasizes rigorous instruction and long-term student success.

Provides focused mathematics instruction for students in grades 7 and 8.

Provides at least two hours of daily small-group instruction per student through a two-teacher classroom model to support differentiated learning.

Delivers a hands-on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) program using the Full Option Science System (FOSS) curriculum for students in grades K–8.

Provides social work services to students in grades 3 through 5 to support their academic and emotional well-being.

Runs an extended school day from 8:15 AM to 4:15 PM and an extended school year to increase instructional time for students in grades K–8.

Runs an after-school program from 4:30–6:00 PM, Monday through Friday, at two locations, offering enrichment in STEM, dance, music, and visual arts for all students.

Conducts a fair and open enrollment process for K–8 students that does not discriminate based on intellectual ability, achievement, disability, English proficiency, race, religion, national origin, immigration status, or other factors prohibited by law. The enrollment deadline is March 31 each year.

Offers instruction in visual arts, dance, and music to all students and integrates the arts across academic subjects.

Offers daily dedicated instruction in reading, writing, and speaking skills for all students.

Offers free school bus transportation to enrolled students to ensure access to education.

Offers general education, integrated co-teaching, and special education instruction in English language arts, humanities, mathematics, and STEM subjects for students in kindergarten through 8th grade, including tailored support for middle school students.

Provides rigorous daily instruction in reading, writing, and mathematics to ensure students achieve fluency, confidence, and strong foundational skills by third grade. Students are taught to high academic standards, with consistent performance above district and city peers on New York State assessments.

Implements a hands-on science program for K-4 students using the Amplify Science curriculum, integrating investigations, literacy, and digital tools. Covers life, earth, and physical sciences with cumulative progression. For middle grades, offers Earth Science, physical science, and living environment curricula aligned with state standards, including preparation for the Living Environment Regents Exam.

Operates a school admissions lottery for the 2025-2026 academic year with a deadline of April 1, 2025, and offers admission from a waitlist when seats become available, requiring acceptance within a 48-hour window.

Provides a fully inclusive program for students on the autism spectrum and other special needs students, delivering all services required by IEPs including speech-language pathology, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and counseling. Maintains a co-teaching model and specialized supports such as Social Club sessions to promote social competencies.

Operates after-school programs at all school sites offering homework help, enrichment activities such as science clubs, and free SHSAT preparation for middle school students to support academic advancement and engagement.

Conducts monthly meetings and offers year-round professional development to strengthen teachers’ content knowledge, skills in analyzing student work, and instructional effectiveness.
