Public-Private Partnership

Administers funding and leads development initiatives such as the Clayton Riverwalk Phase 3, including property acquisition, project design, and bid management, and oversees infrastructure improvements in the historic district involving streets, sidewalks, water mains, sewer laterals, utility lines, and street lighting.

Conducts research to support job opportunities and community development in Clayton, New York, including commissioning a population and housing study to define and quantify local housing challenges, finalized in 2024.

Works to promote employment opportunities, business development, job retention and growth, and expansion of existing businesses in the Town and Village of Clayton to improve overall quality of life.

Secures and administers grant funding from state and federal sources including NYS Department of State, NYS Empire State Development, USDA Rural Development, and Northern Border Regional Commission, with a total of $12,286,541 secured for projects such as waterfront remediation, property redevelopment, utility improvements, and the Harbor Hotel development.

Implements economic revitalization initiatives and promotes cultural, historic, tourist, and civic interests within the Yonkers Downtown/Waterfront Special Improvement District to enhance local business and community engagement.

Mobilizes public and private resources to support economic and civic development in the Yonkers Downtown/Waterfront district through strategic partnerships and funding initiatives.

Facilitates cooperation among service firms, retailers, property owners, employers, and citizens to promote business opportunities, employment, consumer choices, and shopper facilities in the Yonkers Downtown/Waterfront district.

Provides scholarships to support educational opportunities for members of the Copiague community.

Represents the interests of local businesses at Town Hall and other public forums to influence policy and support favorable economic conditions in Copiague.

Works with elected officials, including Supervisor Schaffer and Town and Village leaders, to commission reviews and address community issues such as returning to in-person operations.

Supports economic development by facilitating networking among member businesses, residents, and organizations through events and programs that promote local businesses and strengthen the business environment in Copiague.

Organizes and hosts a Summer Concert Series in 2026 as a community engagement initiative to bring together residents and visitors.

Engages in ongoing efforts to enhance community well-being and support local businesses through initiatives that foster economic development and improved conditions for residents and business owners.

Provides regular recreational activities for seniors, including arts and crafts, card and table games, billiards, dance lessons, and special monthly events and trips.

Plans and sponsors a range of community events including Copiague Beautification Day, Community Shred-a-thon, Holiday Street decorations, Annual Biz Xpo and Restaurant Night, Annual Family Festival, and a Holiday Party to engage residents and support local businesses.

Offers information and direct support to local business owners to help maintain and improve the economic vitality of Copiague.

Stimulates reinvestment in residential, commercial, and industrial areas in the Town of Hamburg through a partnership-based, professionally staffed nonprofit structure.

Advocates on behalf of local businesses, serving as a liaison between merchants and city agencies or organizations, and connects business owners with resources such as pro bono legal assistance and support navigating city government.
