Artistic Mastery Through Collaborative Immersion

Offers music and visual art classes for young children and their families through 15-week trimester or 30-week academic year programs. Provides both adult/child and child-only class formats led by trained educators and musicians, with improvisational accompaniment, serving developmental stages from infancy onward.

Authored and published the Diller-Quaile Series, including instructional materials like the First Solo Book and First Duet Book, and The Splendor of Music, which synthesizes over fifty years of teaching experience. Conducts research on musical development, teaching and learning, and community music practices.

Operates multiple ensembles including the Reading Orchestra, Intermediate Orchestra, Diller-Quaile Orchestra, Youth Opera, Chamber Ensemble, and Camerata—a chamber orchestra for intermediate and advanced adult musicians. These programs serve students ages 9 and up, with specific ensembles targeted at ages 11–18 and adult participants.

Delivers customized in-school music instruction in New York City public, charter, and independent schools, including weekly group instrument lessons, chorus, ensembles, and musicianship courses. Programs include partnerships with Hunter College Elementary School and Yorkville East Middle School MS177, culminating in concerts and integrated into elective curricula.

Provides individual and group music lessons, ensemble participation, and performance opportunities for students from infancy through adulthood, including instruction in voice, piano, harp, guitar, strings, woodwinds, and recorder. Offers weekly lessons of 30, 45, or 60 minutes and developmental programs tailored to early childhood, youth, and adult learners.

Provides the Music for All Library—an online resource for early childhood professionals—and distributes individual memberships to teachers and directors from partner centers. Supports curriculum delivery through digital materials used in conjunction with weekly online teacher training.

Provided ongoing onsite music instruction during the 2024–2025 school year through the Preschool Partnership Program, serving 71 children aged 2 to 4 and 17 teachers at a long-standing partner early childhood center.

Hosts student concerts, studio recitals, ensemble performances, master classes with guest artists, and special events such as a historic 1959 Concert for Children at Carnegie Hall. These performance opportunities support artistic growth and community engagement.

Operated the Summer Music Partnership Program in 2024, serving 123 children in-person across four Upper Manhattan early childhood centers and 3,346 children online through 45 centers citywide. Also delivered fifteen in-person chamber music presentations for youth via the Classical Access Program in collaboration with five community organizations.

Offers pre-service and in-service teacher training programs in music education for early childhood professionals, elementary educators, and teaching artists. Includes a historical three-year certification program in class and piano teaching, and ongoing professional development initiatives developed in response to demand for qualified music educators.

Offers a Chamber Music Program that enables students to collaborate with fellow musicians, develop ensemble skills, and study repertoire in a supportive and challenging setting.

Conducts an outreach program in which students and faculty perform at senior centers, nursing homes, community festivals, Head Start programs, and public events throughout Westchester County.

Provides Dalcroze music instruction in group classes for young children, serving 120 students according to recent program data.

Operates an Honors Program for gifted and committed music students, which includes participation in student recitals and has produced prize-winning performers in national and international competitions.

Offers comprehensive music education through private lessons, early childhood classes, ensembles, and access to a faculty of distinguished performers and educators in Westchester County, contributing to national recognition for excellence.

Operates an annual summer arts program for children ages 6–16, offering instruction in music, drama, and arts over a period of four to six weeks.

Engages volunteers in supporting special events, administrative functions, and professional service contributions, while offering community service credit opportunities for high school student volunteers.

Offers a two-week chamber music program that includes music theory, music history, masterclasses, sectional rehearsals, technique building, and ensemble rehearsal, culminating in performances. Chamber ensembles are combined into a chamber orchestra to perform orchestral repertoire, with recordings of performances.
