Peer-Led Youth Empowerment

Provides coaching resources, training, and recognition for leadership contributions to support effective implementation of Little League programs and enhance organizational growth.

Generates proceeds from ticket sales to support the 12U Briarcliff Cooperstown Team, financing team travel and tournament participation.

Hosts annual events including Opening Day parades, field experiences at Yankees Stadium, and training events featuring Major League Baseball players. These events foster community involvement and enhance player experience.

Conducts open tryouts and evaluation clinics for 8U–10U travel baseball teams, including multi-session clinics led by former collegiate players, with selected players participating in mandatory winter workouts and a full spring travel season. Prepares teams for the 2026 season and participation in tournaments.

Provides structured youth baseball programs for children ages 5 to 13 across multiple divisions (Teeball, AA, Minors, and travel teams), including weekly practices, games, skills training in hitting, pitching, and fielding, and competitive league play in the GHVBL and District 33. Programs operate in spring, summer, and fall at Ryder Park, McCrum Field, and Neighborhood Park, serving approximately 170 children annually.

Operates a youth softball league, including an opening day event, weekly practices for kindergarten through 7th grade, and winter indoor clinics for girls in grades K–6. The program includes dedicated fields at Neighborhood Park and Chilmark, with sessions scheduled on Fridays and Saturdays.

Hosts limited-run programs such as the pay-what-you-can Summer Theater Intensive and master classes, including a dance workshop led by professional choreographer Lori Eure featuring material from "Cabaret," to expand access and training opportunities for local teens.

Provides a creative and social outlet for children and teens through live theater experiences, having produced over 100 theatrical productions since inception and engaged more than 2,000 children from the local community. The organization reaches approximately 2,500 people each season, including participants, families, and audience members.

Stages four fully produced theatrical performances each year, including two productions for children ages 6–13 (performed in December and May/June) and two for teens ages 12–18 (a fall play and a spring musical), with rehearsals spanning six to twelve weeks. These productions have included works such as "Barnum," "Our Town," "Charlotte’s Web," and "Jazzy Fairy Tales."

Operates the Pied Piper Actors' Society, a teen-led leadership program that engages selected youth in producing three theatrical performances annually, leading costume and lighting design, mentoring younger students, and representing the organization at community events such as the Little Red Lighthouse Festival and open mic nights.

Manages and maintains the Hall of Animals, which features native animal habitat exhibits, with expansions and renovations completed in 1984 and 2023 to enhance educational offerings.

Hosts volunteer events focused on environmental stewardship, including invasive species management and native plant restoration at the Outdoor Discovery Campus.

Conducts ongoing maintenance and improvement of facilities and grounds, including trail and arboreal cleanup, deck and roof repairs, barn door restoration, removal of construction debris, and renovation of program spaces such as the Stillman Barn, Stillman Pavilion, and Grasshopper Grove.

Organizes and staffs an annual Wildflower Sale fundraiser held at the Outdoor Discovery Campus and Wildlife Education Campus.

Supports inclusive work and learning environments and promotes equitable access to nature education across regional communities. Evaluates programming and marketing materials for relevance and inclusion to advance the principle that nature is for everyone and to bridge diversity gaps in environmental stewardship.

Provides nature education experiences to over 30,000 people annually through preschool, summer camp, school programs, weekend activities, and public events, using native animal collections, natural habitats, and trails. Programs are delivered at three facilities and outreach locations across the Hudson Valley.

Operates Grasshopper Grove, a natural play space designed to encourage imaginative play, risk-taking, and motor skill development using logs, boulders, and natural materials. The space is open weekends from mid-April to mid-November and includes restored native plantings, foot bridges, and renovated features such as the Mud Kitchen and Learning Center.

Operates three primary facilities: the Outdoor Discovery Campus at 120 Muser Drive in Cornwall, the Wildlife Education Campus at 25 Boulevard in Cornwall-on-Hudson, and Mountain Lake Park in Warwick. These sites host educational programs, visitor services, and public access to nature.
