Alumni Engagement Through Identity and Belonging

Organizes an annual event that connects alumni with active chapter members and new pledges through a dinner and structured networking opportunities to foster mentorship.

Facilitates alumni engagement by organizing attendance at Cornell Reunion, where alumni visit the chapter house and interact with fellow alumni and active chapter members.

Hosts an annual induction ceremony during Alumni Weekend to honor Alumni of the Year, Athletic Hall of Fame inductees, Wall of Distinction honorees, and recipients of the Superlative Staff Award, with plaques displayed at Oneonta High School. The event includes speeches and formal recognition.

Seeks and organizes volunteers to serve on committees focused on membership, fundraising, social media, and golf, supporting the operational and programmatic goals of the association.

Organizes an annual Alumni Weekend, also known as Homecoming Weekend, held on the first weekend in October, including a social event on the first Saturday. The event brings together graduates and friends of Oneonta High School for reunions, gatherings, and programming.

Organizes an annual breakfast event for military veteran alumni of Oneonta High School as part of its efforts to engage and honor specific alumni communities.

Organizes an annual event in support of the Oneonta Boys & Girls Club, reflecting community engagement beyond alumni-specific programming.

Maintains up-to-date contact information for alumni and collects class or individual updates for inclusion in newsletters and association records.

Hosts the annual Tony Drago Alumni Golf Classic as a fundraising component of Alumni Weekend. Proceeds support scholarships, alumni programming, and the production of the alumni newsletter.

Produces and mails the OHS Alumni Newsletter three times per year to keep alumni informed, featuring class notes, achievements, and life events. The first issue was mailed to all alumni in the database.

Offers scholarships and awards to graduates of Oneonta High School to support their continued education and recognize achievement. Funding for these scholarships is supported through events such as the annual golf tournament.

Facilitates and coordinates class reunion events for Oneonta High School alumni, including the 60th reunion for the Class of 1966, the 45th for the Class of 1981, and the 40th for the Class of 1986, with scheduled social and private events in Oneonta.

Raises funds from alumni and donors, including securing over $70,000 during Cornell Giving Day events, with $77,500 raised in 2024, to support operations and legacy projects.

Established and maintains the Robert Trent Jones Scholarship endowment to support members’ educational goals through dedicated funding.

Organizes annual general membership meetings and formal elections for leadership positions, including Board of Directors, President, and Treasurer roles, during events such as Cornell Reunion Weekend.

Conducts ongoing maintenance and renovation projects at the Deke House, including restoration of porches and staircases, repairs to wood and stone surfaces, drainage system upgrades, and electrical system overhauls to improve safety, capacity, and energy efficiency.

Hosts reunion weekends and other gatherings that bring together over 50 members to strengthen alumni connections and organizational continuity.

Recruits and initiates new undergraduate members into the brotherhood, adding 17 new members in 2024–25 and 32 in 2025–26, including conducting formal initiations following periods of suspension.
