Meet Them Where They Are

Offers a Life Skills Program for homeless young adults aged 18–35 to develop skills for obtaining and maintaining stable, permanent housing. Includes job readiness training, counseling, youth groups, and assistance with housing and income; served 50 individuals in 2025.

Operates the only certified emergency youth shelter in Schenectady County for youth aged 16–20, including teen parents and their children, who are homeless, runaways, or at risk of sexual exploitation. The 12-bed facility served 110 youth in 2025 and has capacity to serve 14- and 15-year-olds in special circumstances.

Operates an anti-trafficking program serving seven counties in New York State (Fulton, Montgomery, Saratoga, Schenectady, Schoharie, Warren, and Washington), providing intensive case management, counseling, referrals, and supportive services to survivors of sex and labor trafficking. Served more than 40 survivors in 2025.

Conducts trauma-centered, street-based outreach to runaway, homeless, and at-risk youth ages 12–21 in Schenectady County, including education on risks of sexual exploitation and human trafficking. Reached approximately 500 youth in 2023 and served over 500 individuals in 2025 through outreach.

Offers free training on human trafficking identification and response to hospitals, law enforcement, human services agencies, and other organizations across the Capital Region and North Country.

Grants $500 scholarships annually to graduating high school seniors in Broome, Cortland, and Madison counties to support their education.

Provides care management through Health Homes, Family Homes for the Elderly, CHAMP, and navigation services, including support for individuals not enrolled in Medicaid, to help clients access mental health and substance use resources.

Provides Rapid Opioid Assistance in Recovery (ROAR) services and Narcan training, and distributes naloxone kits to prevent overdose deaths and support recovery from opioid use disorder.

Conducts advocacy efforts focused on policy and enforcement to reduce underage drinking and promote positive youth alternatives.

Conducts early screenings to identify mental health and substance use disorders and connects individuals to appropriate treatment and recovery services.

Runs The Journey Project in Broome County, delivering trauma-informed treatment for survivors of sexual abuse and individuals with problematic sexual behaviors, including those with substance use disorders.

Runs the Cortland Prevention Resources program and other evidence-based initiatives offering prevention education, after-school programs, mentoring, and training to reduce substance use among youth and build healthy communities.

Operates the CHAMP program to help individuals and families overcome barriers to mental health and substance use services, including insurance and coverage issues.

Operates an LGBTQ Center that offers counseling and support services tailored to the needs of LGBTQ individuals.

Offers outpatient mental health and substance abuse counseling services for children, teens, adults, and families through physical locations, telehealth, and school-based programs in Broome, Cortland, Madison, Tioga, and Oneida counties.

Operates the Vocational Incentives Program (VIP) to support employment for individuals recovering from mental health or substance use disorders.

Offers counseling services focused on interpersonal family relationships and adolescents in the Scarsdale, NY area.

Provides outreach workers to schools for daily emotional support, counseling, crisis intervention, and parent support and education in partnership with a local school district.
