Launched a national search for the next Head of School to ensure strong institutional leadership and continuity.

Ensures the long-term development and vitality of the school through a volunteer Board of Trustees composed of parents, alumni parents, and outside educators who provide strategic vision and leadership.

Offers comprehensive high school placement support and advising to 8th grade students and their families, including guidance through the application process and strategic planning for school selection, supported by an experienced counseling team.

Embeds Peace Education as a core component of the curriculum, teaching conflict resolution, grace and courtesy, and respect for human differences. Early childhood students learn communication and sharing skills in a peace-centered environment, while upper grades engage in service learning projects related to inequality, sustainability, and human rights in partnership with local organizations.

Provides a Montessori-based education grounded in child development theory, academic rigor, and character development for students from the Twos program through 8th grade, operating as a continuous program for 60 years. The school maintains mixed-age classrooms in three-year cycles and uses hands-on Montessori materials to support independent discovery, critical thinking, and self-directed learning.

Runs an on-site and online merchandise store through Bonfire to promote school spirit and provide access to BHMS-branded items.

Runs a weekly student-led pizza sales program that generates funds for an end-of-year overnight trip and involves students in planning and execution, fostering financial and organizational responsibility.

Hosts annual community-wide events such as the Back to School Picnic, Community Service Days, and Parents Night Out, and organizes two overnight educational trips each year: a week-long farm visit in the fall and a three-day city visit in the spring. These events foster connection and extend learning beyond the classroom.

Provides a supportive environment for adolescents in grades 6–8 to build self-confidence and leadership skills through structured programs, including mentoring younger students, planning and leading capstone projects, and organizing logistics for end-of-year trips. Sixth grade emphasizes independent thinking, while seventh and eighth grades engage in research, creative projects, and theatrical productions.

Maintains a public directory with standardized email contact formats for faculty and staff to support transparent and accessible communication.

Maintains an all-school calendar and program-specific calendars for Twos/Preschool, Lower Elementary, Upper Elementary, and Middle School to support consistent scheduling and community-wide coordination.
