How they approach the work

Named approaches extracted from this org’s sources. Where others share an approach, follow it to see the full set of orgs running it.

  • Local Sourcing and Sustainability in Dining
    methodology: local_sourcing_and_sustainability
By sourcing food from local growers and prioritizing sustainability, the organization enriches the dining experience and aligns operations with environmental and ethical values. This approach is intended to improve student satisfaction and health outcomes because fresh, locally sourced food is perceived as higher quality and more nutritious.
  • Mandatory Meal Plan for First-Year Students
    methodology: mandatory_meal_plan_for_first_years
By requiring first-year on-campus students to enroll in a meal plan, the organization promotes access to nutritious food, builds community, and supports student success during the transition to college. This structured support is believed to improve well-being and engagement because consistent dining access reduces food insecurity and fosters social integration.
  • Preferred Name Identification on Campus ID
    methodology: preferred_name_identification
By displaying preferred names on campus IDs while retaining legal names for official records, the organization supports inclusion and identity affirmation for students and staff. This practice promotes psychological safety and belonging because being recognized by one’s chosen name validates identity, particularly for transgender, nonbinary, and international individuals.
