DURING DAY PROGRAM EACH INDIVIDUAL IS RECOGNIZED ACCORDING TO HIS OR HER OWN INTERESTS, GOALS AND ABILITIES FOR THE PURPOSE OF INCREASING THEIR SOCIAL, EDUCATIONAL AND CAREER SKILLS.

THE COMMUNITY PROGRAMS PROVIDE ONE-TO-ONE INDIVIDUAL, CUSTOMIZED SUPPORT AND SERVICES TO TRAUMATIC BRAIN INJURY SURVIVORS AND INDIVIDUALS WITH INTELLECTUAL DISABILITIES AT THE LOCATION IN WHICH THEY RESIDE. THIS SERVICE TAKES PLACE IN THE HOME, WHETHER THEY LIVE INDEPENDENTLY OR WITH FAMILY MEMBERS. THE GOAL OF COMMUNITY PROGRAMS IS TO DEVELOP LIFE MANAGEMENT SKILLS AS WELL AS COMMUNITY INTEGRATION. THE SUPPORTS PROVIDED ARE BASED ON INDIVIDUAL NEEDS AND ARE PERSON-CENTERED. THESE SERVICES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO HOUSEHOLD MANAGEMENT, FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT, NUTRITIONAL TRAINING, SHOPPING, RECREATION AND SELF ADVOCACY. THE FREQUENCY AND DURATION OF THESE SERVICES ARE SPECIFIC TO EACH INDIVIDUAL'S NEEDS. FAMILY SUPPORT GRANTS-HEAD INJURY ASSOCIATION PROVIDES FAMILY SUPPORT SERVICES AS WELL AS INDEPENDENT SUPPORT SERVICES. THE GOAL OF FAMILY SUPPORT SERVICES IS TO HELP FAMILIES CARE FOR THEIR LOVED ONE WITH A DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITY AT HOME FOR AS LONG AS DESIRED.
