Funds a $150 scholarship program to support member attendance at the AAOE Annual Conference, enhancing access to professional development opportunities.

Hosts monthly networking meetings and facilitates peer-to-peer forums for members to exchange ideas, collaborate on operational strategies, and address common challenges in orthopedic practice management.

Operates a member-only listserv and maintains a resource-rich website to enable communication on key practice issues, dissemination of updates, and access to tools supporting orthopedic group operations.

Engages in grassroots advocacy by influencing federal and state legislation affecting orthopedic practices, including direct engagement with legislators, shaping Surprise Billing legislation based on state-level experience, and hosting legislative alert meetings to inform members of policy impacts such as NY S7590.

Provides ongoing professional development for orthopedic practice managers through an annual conference, quarterly webinars, educational sessions on coding and billing (including E/M services, time, and Medical Decision Making guidelines), and other structured learning opportunities.

Collaborates with organizations such as AAOE to expand educational offerings and provide members with tools and information to support the daily operations of orthopedic practices.

Engages in active advocacy to protect the rights and interests of property and business owners and lake users, including filing lawsuits and campaigning for governance reforms such as the creation of a centralized lake authority district. Successfully challenged and annulled the 2025 New York State Department of Environmental Conservation Freshwater Wetlands Act regulations through legal action.

Holds regular public meetings and distributes updates, newsletters, and announcements to inform the community, answer questions, and gather feedback on issues affecting Chautauqua Lake, including wetlands regulations and legal developments.

Conducts research and analysis on the scientific, social, and economic impacts of government and organizational actions on Chautauqua Lake and shares findings with property owners and the public to inform decision-making.

Advocates for state and federal investment in public transportation by monitoring legislative activity, issuing policy statements, providing budget testimony, and engaging policymakers through initiatives like Transit Awareness Day. Represents transit interests before New York State government entities, including the Governor’s Office and Legislature.

Plans, organizes, and hosts the NYPTA Annual Conference & Expo each year in various locations across New York State, featuring educational programming, speaker panels, and industry exhibits to serve as the largest annual gathering of public transportation professionals in the state.

Produces and distributes a weekly eNewsletter to keep public transit professionals, stakeholders, and supporters informed about policy developments, industry news, innovations, and educational opportunities.

Reviews budgets, monitors financial performance, and supports long-term financial planning by evaluating revenue opportunities and making recommendations to the Board of Directors to ensure responsible fiscal management of NYPTA.

Implements strategies to grow, engage, and retain members by enhancing member benefits, collecting feedback, and developing responsive programs. Shares resources from small transit system members through curated lists to strengthen peer learning and organizational capacity.

Offers a six-part, year-long leadership development program for mid- to senior-level public transit managers aimed at preparing them for executive roles, including a required leadership project and recognition at the annual conference. Also provides training courses such as Transit 101 and interactive programs on federal and state transit programs.

Conducts and publishes research to inform public transit policy, including whitepapers on revenue needs for public transit in Upstate New York and long-term funding priorities through 2030.

Builds sustainable, community-owned income streams through Village Savings and Loan Associations and supports local enterprises such as sponge production and poultry rearing to generate steady income for marginalized communities in North Central Nigeria and Uganda.

Operates the Safe Space Initiative, delivering emergency shelter, psychosocial support, family reintegration, legal assistance, community education, and protection services for intersex children and families in crisis. Also provides emergency housing, legal support, and crisis response for LGBTQ+ communities in Nigeria and Jamaica.
