Diverse Registry Expansion

By increasing the size and genetic diversity of bone marrow donor registries through targeted, culturally informed, and low-barrier recruitment, we improve the likelihood of finding matches for patients in need, because genetic compatibility in transplantation is strongly influenced by ancestry and haplotype similarity, and underrepresented populations are currently underserved in global registries. This strategy unifies efforts to expand donor registries with a focus on racial, ethnic, and demographic diversity, leveraging culturally competent outreach, peer-led campaigns, and strategic partnerships to enroll underrepresented groups. It differs from general awareness or one-time donation drives by emphasizing systemic inclusion and long-term registry transformation to address disparities in transplant access. While some organizations focus on universal enrollment, the shared theory of change across these strategies centers on diversity as a critical driver of match success, especiall
