Advocates for community resilience in Red Hook, Brooklyn and the greater New York area through projects, planning, research, and education.

Builds equitable community ties among individuals, groups, and commercial interests in Red Hook, Brooklyn to support resilience.

Provides scholarships to college and university students of Nepalese origin in the Albany area to support their education.

Provides dance instruction for children and adults to celebrate Nepali music and culture through traditional and contemporary forms.

Organizes annual picnics, sports activities, networking events, volunteer projects, and community gatherings to foster connections among Nepalese families and individuals in the Capital Region, including complimentary access to the Annual Community Picnic for members.

Hosts annual cultural events including Dashain, Tihar, Nepali New Year, Teej, Deusi/Bhailo, and Holi to preserve Nepali heritage and strengthen community bonds among Nepalese families in New York's Capital Region.

Produces and publishes a digital souvenir publication titled 'Smarika' to document and celebrate ANNS history, community achievements, cultural stories, and memories, with versions available in 31 MB and 512 MB file sizes.

Offers in-person and online Nepali language classes for children and youth, including summer programs and beginner to intermediate levels, focusing on speaking, reading, and writing skills for ages 4 and above.

Allocated $5,000 to support families affected by COVID-19, including up to $300 in groceries and essential items for member families and $100 for non-member families, through a dedicated COVID-19 Swat team that purchased and delivered supplies to quarantined households.

Organizes participation of community youth and members in public events such as the Festival of Nations to represent and promote Nepali culture.

Operates a soccer club that brings together youth and adults through sports, teamwork, and community engagement.

Supports the formation and activities of the Albany New York Nepalese Society Youth Club to foster cultural connection, leadership development, and community engagement among youth.

Provided roofing bundles including zinc sheets, timber, and hardware to support close to 40 families across 12 communities in St. Elizabeth, St. Ann, Trelawny, and St. James, Jamaica, following Hurricane Melissa.

Funds the Theodora Project through annual donations and grants, including $3,100 USD to support recovery and education at Theodora Skills Training Center in Negril and a $2,500 grant for roof reconstruction. Also issued a $5,000 grant for building materials for Sav La Mar residents and the Orange Baptist Church.

Hosts the 11th Annual Community Health Fair offering onsite health education, medical screenings, and access to providers for dental health, pediatrics, and mental health services for the local community.

Holds regular monthly meetings on the first Thursday of each month at 6 PM, conducted both in person and via Zoom, to engage the Jamaican community in Rochester.

Responded to Hurricane Melissa in October 2025 by raising close to $100,000 and distributing over 700 care packages, cooked meals, and essential supplies to affected communities in Trelawny, Clarendon, Westmoreland, and St. Elizabeth, Jamaica. Also provided immediate shelter support, including tents and cots, to displaced residents.

Offers transportation support for elderly Jamaicans and assists Jamaican teachers with employment opportunities in the Rochester area.
