Art-Based Empowerment

Provides art programs designed for individuals with disabilities, offering creative engagement and expression opportunities.

Provides daily recreational activities such as swimming, nature exploration, art creation, animal care, and group activities for children and adults with developmental disabilities. Camp Loyaltown campers' artwork is showcased in public exhibits, and programs emphasize social skills, autonomy, and teamwork.

Provides Self-Direction services that enable individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to control their support and service planning. Offers Support Broker and Fiscal Intermediary services, including assistance with forming Circles of Support, budget management, staff recruitment and training, Medicaid compliance, payroll, billing, and habilitation planning.

Operates a Compliance Program to prevent, detect, and correct non-compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including Federal health care program requirements. Maintains accreditation from the American Camp Association and operates under an annual permit from the Department of Health with pre- and in-season inspections.

Operates Camp Loyaltown, a summer overnight camp in Hunter, NY, serving over 600 children and adults with developmental disabilities annually through 1-week and 2-week sessions. Also provides short-term overnight residential respite care in Nassau County and weekend respite services on the Brookville campus. These programs offer structured recreational activities and support personal care, socialization, and independence.

Provides Individual Residential Alternative (IRA) services and other residential supports to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities across Nassau and Suffolk counties. In 2024, served an average of 141 individuals across 24 residential locations. Services are based on person-centered planning and include support with daily living and community engagement.

Offers respite services for adults aged 18 and over with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including weekend, overnight, and summer camp options. Services are delivered by trained staff and aim to support caregivers while promoting independence and well-being for individuals.

Operates a Central Enrollment Team to assist individuals and families in accessing services through the OPWDD Front Door system, providing guidance and support to ensure timely enrollment and service coordination.

Routinely collects feedback from individuals and families through Customer Satisfaction Surveys and Quality of Life Visits to inform service improvements and ensure person-centered care.

Delivers physical therapy, speech-language pathology, behavioral health care, and counseling services to individuals with developmental or acquired disabilities. Services include evaluations, individualized treatment programs, assistive technology assessments, and specialized support for communication, swallowing, mobility, and emotional well-being.

Implements a Corporate Compliance Program that includes policy development, staff training, audits, and investigations. Trains all staff on HIPAA and HITECH regulations and monitors training effectiveness through audits.

Operates day services programs that support meaningful daily participation and community integration for individuals with developmental disabilities, including personalized community connection, skill-building, and independent living supports delivered in homes or community settings.

Provides specialized educational services for students with developmental disabilities, including therapy services delivered by integrated clinical teams. Also offers technology training in photography, photo editing, movie making, internet safety, and software use, with adapted equipment and individualized instruction.

Provides emergency and supplemental funding to individuals with developmental disabilities in Western New York to meet unaffordable needs.

Provides person-centered vocational planning, job coaching, training, workplace accommodations, and ongoing employment support for adults with developmental disabilities to promote workforce integration and independence.

Implements incident management practices including timely reporting, recording, investigation, review, and follow-up to enhance quality of care and protect individuals from abuse and neglect. Prohibits retaliation against those who report incidents or cooperate with investigations.

Supports adults with developmental disabilities in achieving independent living through monthly rental subsidies, one-time transition stipends for furniture and household items, and community-based housing in private or certified settings.

Conducts outreach to build relationships with individuals, families, local businesses, and agencies. Provides an online application process for OPWDD Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) Waiver intake after service authorization.
