Shooting Sports Training and Safety 3 activities
- Host organized shooting sports leagues and competitionsHosts year-round leagues in rifle, handgun, and shotgun disciplines, including summer and winter trap leagues that compete against other Central New York clubs. Also organizes scheduled Club F-Class events at 300 yards and has hosted nationally registered competitions such as the IBS Group Nationals, NY State IBS Championships, and Pro-Am Group Shoots at 100 and 200 yards.
- Operate indoor and outdoor shooting ranges for member useProvides indoor and outdoor shooting facilities including a 50-foot indoor pistol range with eight stations available 24/7, outdoor high-power rifle and handgun ranges extending to 300 yards and 25 yards respectively, and shotgun ranges including 4 skeet and 6 trap ranges with a patterning board. The facility also includes a covered shooter area with 46 benchrest-style benches on the high-power range.
- Provide youth shooting sports and safety education programsOffers youth programs including a junior trap and skeet clay target shooting training program for ages 12 to 17, consisting of 9 to 10 sessions annually from spring through mid-summer on Sunday afternoons. Provides firearms safety training, skills development, and all necessary equipment including shotguns, shooting vests, and eye and hearing protection. Also serves as a host site for NYS DEC Hunter Education and Bowhunter Education courses.
