Represents over 50 hospitals and health systems across 32 counties in Upstate New York by advocating for policies that expand access to care, reduce regulatory burdens, support recruitment and retention of medical professionals, and advance regional parity in healthcare. Engages in lobbying efforts with state government officials, the Governor’s office, state agencies, and the New York State Legislature.

Funds scholarships for low-income, diverse candidates pursuing healthcare certifications and supports virtual acute care training for entry-level workers. Provides grants to hospitals for emergency preparedness training, COVID-19 testing, procurement of supplies, and frontline staff support including food, accommodations, and transportation.

Operates United Iroquois Shared Services (UISS), a group purchasing organization that provides access to local, regional, and national discounts on supplies and services for healthcare and non-healthcare facilities. Supports members through cost-saving solutions and business partnerships.

Produces a regular newsletter highlighting advocacy efforts, programs, initiatives, group purchasing updates through UISS, and organizational news. Delivers educational workshops, seminars, surveys, and communications to support cooperative activities among member hospitals and nonprofit healthcare providers.

Hosts educational webinars, in-person meetings, and events—including an annual invitational event with programming such as golf and pickleball—to support collaboration, leadership development, and preparedness among member organizations and affiliated vendors.

Conducts long-standing data collection and analysis on healthcare workforce trends, including turnover and vacancy rates, productivity benchmarks, and organized labor. Produces compensation and benefits surveys for executive, administrative, and staff positions in acute and non-acute care settings across Upstate New York, with over 50 years of experience providing customizable survey tools and analytical reports.
