Youth Leadership Pipeline

Provides holiday meals and gifts annually to hundreds of income-eligible residents in South Glens Falls through the Holiday Caring Program.

Operates a 7-week summer day camp for youth ages 5–12 featuring field trips, physical activity, self-defense, nutrition education, and team-building, and provides a before and after school program at all South Glens Falls elementary schools to offer supervised environments for learning and social development.

Relies on volunteers to support day-to-day operations and community collaboration in delivering services.

Hosts ongoing social and recreational activities including Bingo, mahjong, Tai Chi, crafting, rug making, a weekly walking club along the Betar Byway, and cultural trips to museums, shows, historic sites, and waterfront locations. Also provides educational and wellness programs tailored to community needs and seasonal interests.

Operates a food pantry providing three-day food supplies monthly to pre-qualified families in the South Glens Falls Central School District and distributes fresh produce, deli, bakery, and meat items weekly through the Hannaford Food Outreach Program. Also provides healthy, child-friendly food to income-eligible families during summer months and weekend meals during the school year via the Backpack Program.

Provides a safe, supervised space for middle and high school students to engage in recreation, study, and socialization, with access to books, games, and technology.

Delivers human services and referrals to communities in northern Saratoga, southern Warren, and Washington counties in New York, functioning as a community hub for families, youth, and seniors, and addressing food insecurity and social determinants of health and wellness.

Offers free tax preparation services to seniors and income-restrained individuals through partnerships with AARP and VITA, and provides form completion assistance to help individuals navigate applications for assistance programs.

Operates the Dial-A-Bus service, providing transportation for medical, social, and daily errands to disabled individuals and those aged 55+ in Moreau and South Glens Falls.

Operates a multi-stage leadership development program for youth beginning at age 15, progressing through structured roles from Aide to Division Head. The program includes formal training in communication, motivation, goal setting, peer mentorship, and feedback, preparing participants for increasing levels of responsibility in cabin leadership, role modeling, and division management.

Provides a structured 25-day summer camp program for children ages 10 to 15 focused on developing moral, personal, physical, and leadership skills through fellowship, recreational activities, and progressive programming across four divisions. The program serves boys from 33 U.S. states and 10 foreign countries and includes daily structured activities in arts, athletics, outdoor exploration, and spirituality, balanced with choice time.

Implements health and safety protocols including vaccination requirements with medical exceptions only, health screenings for contagious symptoms via an on-site Health Center, hand hygiene promotion, tick removal when authorized, sunscreen reapplication assistance, and mask or testing requirements for unvaccinated individuals returning from illness.

Enforces a zero-tolerance policy for discrimination and harassment based on race, ethnicity, religion, socioeconomic background, gender identity, or sexual identity, and conducts ongoing staff training and programming that celebrates cultural differences.

Provides a traditional day camp experience in Haines Falls, NY, approximately two hours north of New York City, featuring outdoor activities, sports, arts and crafts, swimming, field trips, and nature-based programming for children ages 3 to 15.

Offers need-based financial aid for families with incomes under $125,000 or special financial circumstances, along with installment payment plans and sibling discounts to increase accessibility to camp programs.

Offers structured leadership programs including a Leader in Training (LIT) program for ages 13–14 and a Counselors in Training (CIT) program for ages 15–16, focusing on outdoor leadership, service projects, camper management skills, and job readiness, with some participants receiving stipends or salaries.

Operates an alumni page to help past campers reconnect, submit photos and stories, and schedule reunions at the camp.

Provides instructional programs in scuba diving (including Beginner Open Water and Advanced Diver Certification), sailing, and ocean discovery as structured camp electives, with certification courses available for an additional fee.
