Values-Based Youth Development

Provides online registration for programs to increase accessibility and participates in a nationwide membership reciprocity program, allowing members to access any YMCA location in the United States at no additional cost. Plans to expand programming in Livingston County by dedicating staff to community service.

Operates multiple YMCA facilities in Genesee, Orleans, and Wyoming Counties, offering supervised child watch services, access to recreational facilities such as swimming pools and gyms, and hosting events like children's birthday parties. Complimentary child watch services are available with varying hours by location.

Provides group fitness classes, sports programs for all ages, and recreational activities emphasizing skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship in a non-competitive environment. Includes access to indoor pools at multiple branch locations and hundreds of group fitness classes across facilities.

Offers health and wellness programs focused on improving physical, mental, and spiritual well-being, including free 30-minute wellness consultations, personalized fitness planning, and a free mobile app to support member engagement and access to services.

Delivers targeted training and support through programs such as Challenger Sports, Lift It Up, and the Spinal Injury Bike program, designed to empower community members through adaptive and inclusive physical activity.

Operates Universal Pre-K, school-aged child care, before and after school programs, and summer camps that support cognitive, social, physical, and emotional development in children and youth. Programs are tuition-based and aligned with school district schedules, providing safe environments that foster skill development.

Offers structured programs in educational, recreational, and social domains for local youth with the aim of fostering high moral values.

Engages staff and volunteers in demonstrating Christian behavioral and attitudinal values as part of youth outreach and service activities.

Provides training and opportunities for youth to participate in outreach services aimed at supporting less fortunate individuals.

Hosts kids gym and pool parties in designated rooms and time slots on weekends, offering two-hour packages that include one hour in the pool or gym games and access to a community room section for up to 15 guests. Some parties include access to the rock climbing wall when available.

Offers day camp programs for children, including online registration and a 4-week half-day summer program for children ages 3–5 focused on early learning, socialization, themed activities, arts and crafts, play-based learning, and swimming lessons.

Rents community rooms and facilities to members and non-members on an hourly basis and for evening events, including Saturday night rentals from 9 PM to 12 AM.

Operates Family Swim and Family Time in Kids Gymnasium programs to promote family bonding through shared physical activity and play, and hosts signature community events such as family nights, Halloween Parade, Healthy Kids Day, and Turkey Trot.

Provides financial assistance to reduce economic barriers to program participation and facility access, including complimentary memberships for individuals and families facing job loss. In 2024, provided over $89,040 in assistance, and in 2023 awarded $59,070 specifically for facility access.

Operates a nursery school program for children ages 3–4 and a half-day Universal Pre-Kindergarten (UPK) program in partnership with the Norwich City School District, offering free enrollment for district residents and tuition-based options for others. Programs emphasize socialization, independence, early academic skills, play-based learning, and include weekly swimming lessons.

Provides licensed and registered school-age childcare programs that enhance social and physical development through developmentally appropriate activities, including full-day programming with themed crafts, swimming, gym play, and daily healthy snacks.

Provides swim lessons for all ages, including free lessons for children through the NY SWIMS Initiative, parent-and-child classes for infants and toddlers, preschool lessons (Levels 1–3), and youth learn-to-swim (Levels 1–6) with instruction in six swimming strokes and rescue skills. Also operates a youth swim team. Lessons are delivered with small instructor-to-student ratios (4:1 for preschool, 6:1 for youth).
