Science-Based Farmer Empowerment

By generating and sharing locally relevant, scientific agricultural knowledge through farmer-led or farmer-partnered research and peer-driven extension, we improve farm productivity, sustainability, and resilience, because evidence-based practices are more likely to be adopted when they are co-developed with and validated by farmers in real-world conditions. This strategy unites a focus on empirical research with deep farmer engagement, distinguishing it from top-down research or generalized extension models. It emphasizes not just the production of scientific knowledge, but its co-creation, local validation, and dissemination through trusted peer networks—ensuring relevance, adoption, and equity. Unlike purely technological or market-driven approaches, this strategy treats farmers as both beneficiaries and active agents in innovation.
