Intersectional Solidarity

Collects, analyzes, and publishes annual data on K-12 Jewish school enrollment in New York State, including reporting 162,894 students in the 2020-2021 school year, with data compiled from the New York State Department of Education. This research has been published for at least nine consecutive years.

Conducts research on Orthodox Jewish voter participation, including documenting at least 120,000 voters in the November 2022 elections across New York State.

Advocates for civil rights and civil liberties of Orthodox Jews through public campaigns, media engagement, legal advocacy, and outreach across multiple jurisdictions including New York City, Rockland County, Orange County, Bergen County, and municipalities such as Airmont, Clarkstown, Mahwah, Jersey City, and Lakewood. Issues addressed include zoning, education policy, public health enforcement, hospital visitation rights, security funding, and park access.

Ran a one-week billboard campaign in Times Square to counter misinformation about vaccination rates among Orthodox Jews and promote awareness about vaccinations.

Advocates for technology companies and lawmakers to enforce community guidelines, increase transparency, respond to hate speech, and support victims of online harassment through testimony, research, and policy recommendations.

Leads advocacy efforts resulting in the passage of state laws, including AB 715 in California protecting K-12 Jewish students and bipartisan anti-doxing legislation in Illinois.

Produces an annual nationwide report documenting trends and incidents of antisemitism, including vandalism, harassment, and violence, with specific breakdowns for K-12 schools and college campuses. The report is used to inform policy and public understanding.

Provides law enforcement agencies with resources and expertise on extremism and hate crimes, and collaborates with civil society partners to educate communities and develop protective strategies against extremism.

Provides a wide range of educational resources including self-paced lessons, discussion guides, K-12 lesson plans, and online courses for students and educators on antisemitism, bias, Holocaust education, and media literacy, reaching millions of students and thousands of schools.

Files amicus briefs in significant U.S. Supreme Court cases to advance civil rights and combat discrimination, including in Shelley v. Kraemer, McCollum v. Board of Education, and Brown v. Board of Education.

Co-founded the Mayors’ Compact Against Hate, established the J7 Task Force, convenes the Global Jewish Roundtable, and supports the Global Guidelines for Countering Antisemitism, including advocacy for their adoption by governments and international bodies.

Leads global efforts to combat online hate, harassment, antisemitism, racism, and extremist disinformation, including responding to reports of online harassment by assessing incidents and escalating content when platforms fail to act.

Established one of the first formal Holocaust education programs in the U.S., offering comprehensive curricula, teaching guides, and professional development for educators through the International Center for Holocaust Studies and Kulanu.

Deploys to international locations such as Amsterdam and Brussels after antisemitic attacks to engage political leaders and advocate for protective measures for Jewish communities.

Takes legal action against extremist individuals and organizations, collaborates with law enforcement on investigations (e.g., in Los Angeles’ Pico-Robertson), and shares intelligence on extremists to support threat mitigation.

Delivers the A WORLD OF DIFFERENCE® program and related anti-bias training through workshops, webinars, and online courses for students, educators, and workplaces to foster inclusive environments.

Implements a school- and community-based program to combat hate violence, supporting over 2,200 schools in building inclusive climates through student-led, school-wide activities.

Maintains the H.E.A.T. Map, an interactive tool tracking hate, extremism, antisemitism, and terrorism incidents, and a Hate Symbols Database cataloging white supremacist and hate group iconography for public and law enforcement use.
