Advocates nationally for increasing the number of forensic pathologists to meet public health needs and promotes greater integration of pathology education into medical school curricula.

Carries out ongoing research in cardiovascular disease, cancer, neuroscience, vaccine development, Lyme disease, diabetes, obesity, skin cancer detection modeling, cognitive decline, and patient decision-making in healthcare markets, using state-of-the-art facilities and collaborative teams of scientists, educators, and students.

Provides medical services to underserved patient populations while engaging medical students in addressing real-time health problems affecting these communities.

Operates the School of Medicine, Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, School of Health Sciences and Practice, Touro College of Dental Medicine, and Touro School of Nursing on a 56-acre Valhalla campus, offering MD, master's, and PhD programs in biomedical and health sciences disciplines.

Enhances emergency and disaster response education and research through expansion of the Center for Disaster Medicine and hands-on training in patient assessment and medical management during simulated crises.

Operates multiple research centers including the Center for Disaster Medicine, Children’s Environmental Health Center, Cardiovascular Translational Science Institute, and MDA Care Center, conducting research with real-world training and clinical applications in emergency preparedness, chronic disease, and population health.

Mentors hundreds of medical students, residents, fellows, and junior faculty as part of graduate medical education and leadership in neuromuscular medicine, neurology, and headache care.

Provides an online Advanced Certificate in Pediatric Dysphagia to train working speech-language pathologists and occupational therapists in diagnosing and treating pediatric swallowing disorders.

Runs a biotech and medtech startup incubator in Valhalla, NY, providing wet and dry labs, offices, and conference space to support early-stage companies advancing health innovation in the Hudson Valley.

Manages a dozen core research facilities—including Genomics, Histopathology, Flow Cytometry, and Behavioral Phenotyping labs—that support over 150 scientists in advanced biomedical studies and long-term investigations, protected by critical infrastructure improvements such as roof replacement in the Basic Sciences Building.
