Indigenous-Led Stewardship

Implements the AI Literacy for Earth program and other cohort-based training initiatives to equip nonprofits, civic leaders, and sustainability changemakers with practical AI tools, skills, and confidence to use AI responsibly and shape its development for environmental outcomes.

Advocates for the use of digital technology—including AI and web3 systems—to enhance environmental stability and strengthen community resilience to climate change.

Runs accelerator programs—including the AI x Climate Accelerator, AI x Nature Accelerator, and AI x Green CIVIC Tech Accelerator—that provide catalytic funding, mentorship, and global connections to innovators using AI and digital tools for climate and nature challenges. These non-dilutive programs support entrepreneurs and grassroots organizations in developing open-source, community-based tools and scaling climate solutions such as solar optimization and flood forecasting.

Co-hosts the annual AI Explorers Summit with Conservation International, UNDP, and TechChange to set strategic priorities and shape global commitments on responsible AI applications for climate and nature.

Provides non-dilutive catalytic grants ranging from $20,000 to $50,000 to early-stage climate entrepreneurs and projects globally, supporting the launch of digital climate tools such as carbon bridges, MRV platforms, and climate finance protocols. Has distributed over $4 million in grants to more than 75 projects across 13–25 countries, unlocking $185 million in follow-on venture funding and $10 million in additional philanthropic investment.

Conducts collaborative research to improve trust and transparency in voluntary carbon markets by co-developing a buyer-focused, data-driven due diligence framework for carbon credits. Works with partners to build the “nature tech” sector by creating digital tools and frameworks that help companies address biodiversity loss.

Tests and scales technology solutions to improve transparency, accountability, and community participation in climate finance, including through accelerator-supported innovations and open-source tools developed by grantees.

Produces academic symposia, public screenings, and educational content to increase public awareness of Haudenosaunee matrilineal systems and the historical influence of Indigenous women on democratic governance.

Creates opportunities for Indigenous women to participate in public events and leadership platforms to increase representation, equity, and allyship.

Highlights and supports the work of Indigenous youth water protectors, such as Autumn Peltier, to elevate their leadership and advocacy in environmental justice.

Hosts in-person and online Indigenous-only gatherings led by Indigenous women to restore individual, family, and community wellness and support healing from historical trauma caused by colonization and forced assimilation.

Creates and distributes multimedia content, including a 9-part video series and podcast series, featuring stories of resilience, leadership, spirituality, and healing from Indigenous women to advance public education and cultural storytelling.

Publishes a beauty and wellness column titled "Indigenously, You" in Rematriation Magazine to promote self-empowerment and holistic well-being among Indigenous women.

Offers sponsorship opportunities to support the leadership development and initiatives of Indigenous women across North America.

Provided support for a four-day fast conducted by Indigenous students from Cornell University as an act of solidarity with Palestine.

Facilitates high-level advocacy efforts including organizing a private audience between a First Nations delegation and Pope Francis, supporting symbolic rematriation actions, and advocating for the revocation of the Doctrine of Discovery.

Advances the use of decentralized technologies to shift control and decision-making to distributed networks and promotes digital equity to ensure full societal and economic participation for marginalized communities.

Organizes community events focused on addressing gentrification and promoting cultural preservation within Black and disenfranchised communities.
