IN JANUARY 2024, IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE CIVIS FOUNDATION, WE LAUNCHED THE DEMOCRACY CYCLE, A MULTI-YEAR COMMISSIONING PROGRAM DESIGNED TO SUPPORT NEW WORKS THAT ILLUMINATE THE PROMISE, PRACTICE, IMPERFECTION, AND OPPORTUNITY OF DEMOCRACY. WE RECEIVED OVER 450 APPLICATIONS FOR OUR FIRST OPEN CALL AND COMMISSIONED EIGHT NEW WORKS IN THE FIRST YEAR OF THE PROGRAM.

PERFORMANCES ON OUR LOBBY STAGE ARE FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. IN 2024 ALONE WE HAD OVER 150 FREE PROGRAMS INCLUDING MUSIC, SPOKEN WORD, DANCE, AND MULTI-GENERATIONAL AND FAMILY PROGRAMMING. PAC NYC COLLABORATES WITH DIVERSE CURATORS WHO WORK WITH ARTISTS FROM AROUND NYC AND THE WORLD TO PROGRAM THE LOBBY STAGE. WE ALSO WORK WITH CONSULATES TO PRESENT CULTURALLY SPECIFIC PROGRAMMING AND OUR CIVIC ALLIANCE PARTNERS TO BRING NEW AND EMERGING VOICES TO THE STAGE.
