Hosts the annual "Summer Real Talk" forum in Martha’s Vineyard, convening thought leaders to discuss issues affecting African Americans, and advocates publicly for policy change, including support for the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act of 2020.

Hosts signature annual events including a black-tie benefit gala, a 3-day golf classic with over 300 participants, a Family Day picnic at Glenn Island Park, and participation in the African-American Day Parade in Harlem to raise funds and strengthen community ties.

Provides nutritious meals and food baskets to food-insecure New Yorkers through its Citywide Hunger Relief Program and holiday initiatives, partnering with churches, nonprofits, and community institutions. Distributed meals to approximately 8,000 people per year via multiple partners, provided over 40,000 meals during holidays since 2013, and fed 20,000 New Yorkers in a single annual program. During the pandemic, delivered 16,000 meals to first responders and hospital staff and distributed cooked meals to hospitals, churches, and community programs.

Awards college scholarships to Black and brown male high school seniors through a competitive selection process, with recipients receiving ongoing mentorship and support. Awarded $2 million in scholarships overall, including nearly $400,000 over the past five years, and partnered with the NFL to provide approximately $4,000 scholarships to about 20 students in 2020.

Partners with the District Attorney’s Harlem Office to honor local leaders who are reducing gun violence through awards and public recognition.

Conducts annual city-wide service projects including food pantries, resource fairs, suit giveaways, knapsack and book distributions, and family support events. Examples include a Brooklyn food pantry, a Manhattan resource fair and suit distribution, a Staten Island book giveaway, and a Queens event supporting mothers. Also hosts an annual Men’s Business Suit Giveaway for men seeking employment and justice-involved individuals.

Hosts cultural events such as “OHBM Broadway Nights” and “What’s Going On in Our Museums?” to expand youth horizons and promote Black arts and cultural institutions. Organizes annual forums and conferences that engage up to 500 students in discussions led by members, public figures, and officials on youth-identified topics.

Plans to establish five Business and Entrepreneurship Centers in NYC high-incarceration zip codes to serve justice-involved individuals, and provides economic guidance and incentives to communities through member expertise.

Distributed over 60,000 masks and PPE items to Community Health Centers, NYCHA Developments, shelters, and high-need communities during the pandemic, supporting frontline public health efforts.

Hosts youth golf clinics and symposia in partnership with the PGA of America and the NFL, offering beginner youth golfers the opportunity to play with professionals and exposing 40–60 additional youth annually to non-playing career opportunities in golf. Includes a Youth Teach Golf Clinic and youth golf day as part of broader career exposure initiatives.

Operates a comprehensive youth mentoring program that includes one-on-one and group mentorship for middle, high school, and college students, with structured programming in academics, financial literacy, mental health, career development, and personal growth. Engages up to 300 high school students annually through weekly sessions, job shadowing, and career exposure activities, and supports college students through monthly virtual mentoring focused on persistence and campus navigation.
