What they reported doing
- #1 primary $42KATLANTIC AVENUE PROMOTIONAL MARKETING:To raise the profile of the avenue and attract visitors, we produced another "ArtWalk" for two weeks in May, the Atlantic Antic Festival in October (one of the largest street fairs in NYC) and holiday events in November and December. Holiday events are held on different days: a tree lighting, an outdoor children's party, Saturday roving holiday music, visits from Santa and a major toy drive. These events bring more foot traffic to the avenue and generate goodwill. Temporary staff are usually young residents from the surrounding area.

- Community-Led Governance for Local Advocacymethodology: community_led_governanceBy operating through a volunteer board of residents and merchants, the organization ensures that development advocacy and programming reflect local priorities, because community ownership increases legitimacy, responsiveness, and sustained engagement in preserving neighborhood character and resisting disruptive infrastructure projects.
- Event-Driven Commercial Revitalizationmethodology: cultural_event_driven_economic_developmentBy producing recurring public events such as ArtWalk, street festivals, and holiday celebrations, the organization increases foot traffic and commercial visibility on Atlantic Avenue, because structured, periodic events create predictable economic surges and strengthen merchant participation through collective promotion.
- Historic Preservation as Economic Catalystmethodology: historic_preservation_for_economic_developmentBy preserving 19th-century commercial architecture, the organization strengthens neighborhood identity and economic vitality, because historic character differentiates the district in the regional marketplace, attracting visitors and investment while anchoring community pride.
