EDUCATION NETWORK FOR TEACHERS & ARTISTS

Engages 8th grade English Language Arts students in researching civil rights history and creating conceptual art from recycled materials, culminating in public exhibitions. Implemented at Bulkeley Middle School since 2014 as an interdisciplinary exploration of social change through art.

Facilitates student-created public art exhibitions, including large-scale murals, outdoor installations combining poetry and printmaking, and upcycled plastic mandalas. Projects involve partnerships with schools and community organizations and result in public displays.

Offers after-school and community-based workshops in Theatre Improv, Visual & Maker Arts, and improvisation classes for middle and high school students in Rhinebeck, culminating in end-of-year performances. Includes weekly classes for Bulkeley Middle School students and broader programming for youth in the region.

Delivers programs such as "Reader’s Theatre" and Shakespeare performance workshops to develop literacy, language comprehension, and performance skills. Includes dramatic reading for 3rd graders and full productions like Romeo & Juliet for 8th graders.

Hosts an annual full-day interdisciplinary event teaching students about Madagascar through integrated arts activities including dance, theatre, papermaking, writing, storytelling, and visual art. Engages all students in grades 6–8 at Bulkeley Middle School.

Guides students in applying scientific concepts through artistic creation, including biomimicry-based tool design inspired by raptor talons, energy science shows, and landscape art integrating geometry and Hudson River School aesthetics. Serves students in grades 2–10 across multiple schools.

Develops and delivers interdisciplinary arts-based programming in partnership with K–12 schools, integrating core academic subjects such as history, science, math, and language arts with artistic expression through theater, visual arts, dance, and storytelling. Programs are delivered across multiple school districts including Rhinebeck Central School District, Arlington School District, Red Hook High School, and others, serving students from 2nd through 12th grade.

Delivers the "Embody Art" program integrating dance, anatomy, and visual art education through movement-based learning. Piloted in 2015 and ongoing at Red Hook High School and Bulkeley Middle School, with workshops for 7th and high school art students using live models and anatomical observation.

Conducts advocacy efforts and promotes education transformation by advancing the integration of arts-based teaching methods in school curricula.

Organizes an annual full-day walking tour for middle school students to learn Hudson Valley and Revolutionary War history through collaborations with local historical institutions and role-playing actors. Ongoing since 2013 and delivered to Bulkeley Middle School 7th grade social studies students.

Provides opportunities for band students at Bulkeley Middle School and Rhinebeck High School to work with professional musicians to explore jazz improvisation and classical music, enhancing performance skills and musical understanding.

Supports K–12 teachers in developing innovative, arts-integrated teaching practices through collaboration with teaching artists and co-design of customized curricula.

Provides visual arts classes for middle and high school students using experienced teaching artists, offering instruction in papermaking, printmaking, collage, pastels, watercolor, fiber, and other media to support creative exploration and skill development.

Ongoing program engaging 4th grade students in writing, illustrating, hand-building, and marketing original books, in collaboration with publishing professionals and featuring public events for families. Implemented at Chancellor Livingston School since 2006 and Mill Road School since 2015, and previously noted in Rhinebeck Central School District since 2005.
