Operates public library services Monday through Saturday with evening hours during the week. Eliminated late fines for most materials as of August 28, 2023, implements autorenewal up to two times, blocks accounts for assumed-lost items one month after due date, and reinstates accounts upon return, payment, or replacement.

Provides physical and digital lending of books, audiobooks, DVDs, music CDs, and magazines to patrons with valid library cards. Offers digital access through Overdrive and Zinio platforms, and facilitates access to materials beyond the local collection via InterLibrary Loan services from libraries across the U.S. and internationally.

Offers one-on-one tutoring in GED preparation, English as a New Language (ENL), and basic computer skills in partnership with Literacy Outreach for Madison County.

Hosts a rotating gallery program featuring local and regional artists, including an annual juried fiber art exhibition and a dedicated exhibition space that connects the modern addition to the historic John Williams House. Also hosts historical exhibitions focused on Central New York, Madison County, and Cazenovia.

Provides children-specific programs including daily Story Times, Winterfest events, Summer Reading, Half-Day Art, family movies, and educational programs for over 1,000 school children annually. Also offers a weekly block-building event and STEAM-based events tailored for elementary school children.

Engages the community in planning for future library services through public input, community surveys, and the development of a long-range plan informed by survey responses to set priorities and goals.

Makes two meeting rooms available for use by nonprofit and community organizations, with reservations allowed up to four months in advance, for up to 4 hours per session (extendable at the director’s discretion), and up to two scheduled uses per week per group, with additional access available on a walk-in or call-in basis.

Provides free or discounted admission to regional cultural and recreational institutions through a library pass program, including the Corning Museum of Glass, Museum of Science and Technology (MOST), Sciencenter, Adirondack Experience, The Wild Center, Chittenango Landing Erie Canal Boat Museum, and New York State Parks via Empire Pass.

Operates as a public library, museum, and local history archives, maintaining a local history room, three museum rooms with collections including Egyptian artifacts, and an archive room preserving family files, maps, cemetery records, local newspapers on microfilm (including The Pilot from 1808), diaries, letters, land deeds, and the Dan Weiskotten Collection. Provides pre-visit research assistance and photocopy services for historical documents and articles.

Provides public access to computers, Internet, and Wi-Fi services for library patrons.

Holds monthly board meetings on the last Monday of each month at 7:00pm, open to the public.

Hosts over 100 annual programs including concerts, movies, lectures, book talks, classes, and STEAM-based educational events for elementary school children. Offers family-friendly musical storytime, block-building events for preschoolers, and a monthly rotating art exhibit featuring local and regional artists.

Operates a weekly used book sale open Thursday through Sunday and a volunteer-run storefront called Carriage Barn Books, established in a restored historic barn in 2018. Also hosts an annual book sale the last full weekend of July and pop-up sales offering books for $1 or children's books at 5 for $1.

Provides library parking behind the building accessible via Mill Street and Riverside Drive, with handicapped-accessible facilities including designated parking on Albany Street and an elevator from the rear lot. Maintains two quiet reading rooms with original 19th-century interiors in the historic John Williams House.
