Storytelling for Systems Change

methodology: storytelling-for-systems-change

By amplifying personal narratives and expert voices through media and dialogue, shift public and institutional understanding of stigmatized health experiences, because lived experience paired with credible knowledge builds cultural legitimacy and motivates systemic response. This strategy unites narrative reframing, public education, and expert engagement under a shared theory that cultural stigma around women’s health—particularly menopause and cancer—is best disrupted by human-centered storytelling that bridges emotional resonance and factual authority. Unlike awareness campaigns that rely solely on data dissemination or service delivery models focused on individual care, this approach targets the root of marginalization: dominant narratives that silence or misrepresent women’s health experiences. By positioning survivors and specialists as authoritative sources, the strategy leverages credibility and empathy to shift norms, policies, and care pathways at scale.
