Shared Spiritual Practice as Community Foundation

Builds and maintains Masjid Allahu Akbar in Wyandanch, New York, to support Islamic practice and community life for Muslims on Long Island and visitors to the area.

Offers programs and space for religious growth and learning within the community, supporting spiritual development and engagement.

Conducts seminars, camps, conferences, and annual functions to promote the teachings, culture, and sacred values of Jainism, including non-violence, peace, truthfulness, brotherhood, vegetarianism, worship, meditation, and yoga.

Provides weekly administration of the sacraments of Eucharist and Reconciliation through resident priests and chaplains, and maintains a small chapel for private prayer and sacramental services.

Provides grant opportunities to external organizations that meet established eligibility criteria.

Conducts daily Mass services Monday through Friday at 8:15 a.m., Saturday Vigil Mass at 5:00 p.m., and Sunday Mass at 9:30 a.m. during the nine-week Chautauqua summer season, held at Hurlbut Church and other venues including the Hall of Philosophy and Episcopal Chapel of the Good Shepherd.

Organizes weekly social hours at Catholic House and the Hall of Missions during the summer season to foster community engagement among members and guests.

Offers two weekly seminars for spiritual development led by priests-in-residence, held at venues such as the Methodist House Chapel on the Brick Walk.

Operates Catholic House, a donated property established in 2004, to serve as a hub for accommodations, worship, spiritual reflection, and community events; includes ongoing planning for renovations following dedication by Bishop Henry Mansell.

Coordinates volunteers to serve as Eucharistic Ministers, Ushers, and Lectors during weekly Masses as part of the summer worship program.

Operates a guest house with seven rooms, each accommodating two people with private bathrooms and climate control, offering weekly Saturday-to-Saturday stays during the nine-week Chautauqua Institution Summer Assembly; includes communal kitchen, Wi-Fi, and proximity to major venues.

Offers annual grants to Lutheran individuals or families and provides targeted support for diversity by funding access to Chautauqua for persons of color and non-English speakers, including lodging, gate passes, parking permits, and Kids Club access for eligible participants.

Has provided a continuous Lutheran presence at Chautauqua since 1890, beginning with the founding of the first Lutheran worship and meeting space, and continuing through the operation of the current Lutheran House since its dedication in 1925.

Operates a guest house with thirteen furnished rooms, shared dining and kitchen facilities, communal gathering spaces, and wireless internet access, providing lodging accommodations during the Chautauqua season and off-season at subsidized rates. Displayed historical presentation boards from 1925 to 2025 and hosted a 100th anniversary celebration including a rededication service, screening of a commemorative video, and distribution of special cupcakes during the 2025 season.

Holds weekly worship services and fellowship opportunities during the annual Chautauqua season as part of its religious ministry, with documented programming in 2022, 2023, and 2024.

Operates a guest house under a community living model requiring residents to maintain cleanliness of shared kitchen and living spaces to help keep lodging costs affordable.

Conducts ongoing religious activities and faith-based development programs for its congregation and community.
