Political and Labor Advocacy

Submitted letters to U.S. Senators opposing the nomination of Adeel Abdullah Mangi to the U.S. Court of Appeals due to concerns over his affiliations with criminal justice reform groups.

Engages in advocacy to protect members' rights, employment benefits, and working conditions, including through legislative support and public safety initiatives in Rockland County.

Raises and donates funds to families in need, conducts toy drives, provides scholarships, and offers material aid to members and the broader community.

Endorses candidates for public office based on their demonstrated support for law enforcement and public safety in Rockland County.

Promotes social and fraternal activities to strengthen bonds among members.

Offers legal counsel and representation to members in legal proceedings as part of its member support services.

Provides support to public safety efforts in Rockland County, including through collaboration with the Rockland County Sheriff’s Office.

Acts as the collective bargaining unit for sworn detectives in Nassau County, conducting contract negotiations to secure fair wages, benefits, and working conditions. Defends members against disciplinary actions and addresses grievances to ensure due process.

Established and operates the Nassau County Detectives' Charitable Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization, to support law enforcement members and their families in times of need.

Provides members access to financial services through the NCPD Federal Credit Union, supporting their financial well-being.

Maintains a memorial listing the names, ranks, and dates of death of deceased Nassau County Police Department officers to honor their service.

Provides legal representation and/or counsel to members in legal proceedings, ensuring support in matters affecting their professional or personal rights.

Engages in advocacy at local, state, and federal levels to influence legislation affecting law enforcement, with the goal of improving safety, effectiveness, and professional standards for detectives.

Provides financial and material assistance to law enforcement members during sickness, death, natural disasters, and extreme hardship. Includes moral and material aid as needed.

Offers scholarships to college-bound students, supporting educational advancement.

Produces and distributes the Squeal Desk newsletter to members, with recent issues published in March and June 2025, and September and March 2024.

Organizes and promotes social and fraternal activities among members, including annual picnics, holiday parties, golf outings, and Law Enforcement Night events to strengthen camaraderie.

Operates a charitable foundation that provides financial and other assistance to sick, injured, and line-of-duty detective families, as well as other law enforcement members in need. Supports community initiatives such as Toys for Tots, food drives, and coat drives.
