Education as Leadership Incubation

Provides intensive, one-on-one mentoring to scholarship and loan recipients and applicants, covering study habits, college applications, leadership, budgeting, personal finance, and navigating bureaucratic systems. Includes follow-up visits to assess well-being and academic progress.

Funds partner organizations’ scholarship and educational initiatives, including a grant of THB 64,238.86 awarded to Shan Youth Power to support its Scholarship Program and related activities.

Delivers basic health care and informal education services to vulnerable migrant and stateless communities in northern Thailand, fulfilling its public health mission.

Delivers legal training workshops and one-on-one legal consultations to stateless and nationality-less individuals and families on civil registration, Thai citizenship, and permanent residency. Includes co-organized workshops on healthcare and children's rights for migrant workers and their children in Chiang Mai Province.

Offers partial scholarships and interest-free student loans to cover tuition and living expenses for stateless, nationality-less, and migrant students from Myanmar facing economic barriers to higher education. As of June 2023, provided full financial support to 16 higher education and 3 high school students.

Operates the Community-Minded Youth project, which requires scholarship recipients to lead annual community development initiatives in remote areas of Northern Thailand, with funding and oversight provided by the organization.

Organizes river cleanups to reduce local pollution, assesses impact through professional evaluations, and produces articles, videos, and blog posts to raise awareness about environmental challenges. Engages learners and community members in cleanup efforts and media creation to promote water resource protection.

Provides classroom support, math education through the OLICO Maths Program, and remote tutoring via GoogleMeet and WhatsApp, connecting tutors from South Africa and the United States. Operates a laptop lending program and developed an online library of custom YouTube videos aligned with the CAPS curriculum to support remote learning during the pandemic.

Coordinates entrepreneur development programs, participates in student leadership training with Rhodes University, and co-developed a locally relevant business skills course with Gabe Khan. Staff enhanced management and facilitation skills during the pandemic, supported by increased virtual meetings and collaboration.

Hosts reciprocal knowledge exchanges with global partners such as DAY-Africa and institutions like Syracuse University and the University of Michigan, focusing on academic support, social enterprise, leadership, and administration. Conducted multi-month exchanges involving staff and participants from both organizations.

Runs the Common Ground Cafe as a social enterprise and offers business skills programming that includes training in basic business principles, business planning, and piloting ideas. Increased profitability by expanding menu offerings, training parents to sell goods, and using social media for outreach. Hosted entrepreneurship training for parents facilitated by Day Africa.

Produces a podcast series documenting leadership transitions and connecting youth across backgrounds, hosts conversations on nonprofit leadership, and created a documentary film exploring the organization’s educational impact. Also hosted a global poetry event via Zoom in partnership with Nho Rhu Poetic Society.

Provides skills, resources, and individualized guidance to township youth in South Africa to apply, attend, and succeed in university, including assistance with bursary applications and ongoing academic and moral support. Works individually with students and communities, serving approximately 70 learners annually from grade eight through grade 12.

Supports diversity, opportunity, and access through curriculum, co-curricular activities, services, and administrative goals, while working to eliminate barriers to recruitment, retention, and advancement for individuals from historically excluded or underrepresented populations.

Served over 25,000 educators through the Science of Reading Fundamentals microcredential program across New York, Maryland, and the U.S., and hosted a sold-out Literacy Leadership Summit in Albany, NY.

Provides ongoing training for University Police officers on Diversity and Inclusion topics including Fair and Impartial Policing, LGBTQ+ Allies, and Managing Bias.

Enables alumni to nominate high-potential students for a streamlined admissions process with application fee waivers and priority review.

Funds scholarships and awards for individuals to participate in the Science of Reading microcredential program, supporting over 1,900 individuals through funded awards and synchronous seminar series.
