Celebration as Support

Distributes birthday boxes containing gifts and party supplies to children in the community to celebrate birthdays.

Distributes hundreds of Blessing Boxes weekly containing food, diapers, formula, toiletries, and essential household items to families in need across Long Island. These boxes are provided through a pantry in Middle Island, NY, established in May 2020.

Makes emergency food bags available on-site for individuals or families facing immediate hunger and conducts food deliveries, including via Shipt during the pandemic, to support those unable to leave their homes.

Provides food, diapers, formula, and essential support to individuals and families in crisis on Long Island through a short application process. Volunteers assist with applications and are paired with board members to support service delivery.

Provides seasonal and holiday support including Back-to-School, Trunk or Treat, Frost Free Coat Event, Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas through sponsored programs, food deliveries, and gift distributions. Volunteers act as personal shoppers using donated funds to purchase items for these events.

Organizes daily volunteer activities including packing food boxes, stocking shelves, cleaning, and center organization to support ongoing operations.

Provides therapy referrals, babysitting, tutoring, cleaning help, and hot, locally-catered meals—including full Shabbos packages—to single mothers in Israel, particularly during emergencies. Distributed 1,100 Shabbos packages and 1,350 meals, and facilitated 40 therapy referrals.

Provides financial gifts and material support to widows, orphans, and divorced women in Israel to enable dignified celebration of Jewish holidays, including Yom Tov and Shabbos, with food, trips, and essential supplies. Support includes direct deposits and in-kind aid to families in Kiryat Shmoneh, Tzfas, Netivot, Kfar Saba, and Ashkelon.

Delivers sustained financial and emotional support to widows and orphans in Israel, including assistance with daily living expenses and family celebrations, to improve quality of life and provide ongoing stability.

Distributes fun treats, hygiene items, and groceries to children living in poverty on their birthdays.

Distributes over 17,000 curated gift packages annually to families of deployed service members, including personal notes and gifts for occasions such as Christmas, Mother's Day, and Father's Day. The program operates in all 50 states and serves military families free of charge.

Has facilitated connections for over 41,000 service members with their families through curated gift and message delivery programs, enabling emotional support during deployment and recovery.

Engages and mobilizes over 1,000 volunteers nationwide to support the organization’s mission, including through wrapping events and operational support for gift delivery programs.

Operates a dedicated program at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center to support injured and recovering service members, serving both inpatients and outpatients as part of its broader mission to connect military families.

Provides historical education about Blue Star Banners and their color symbolism (blue for serving, silver for wounded, gold for deceased, black for POW/MIA), and offers guidance on the proper use and respectful handling of remembrance poppies.

Offers full membership to mothers and stepmothers of currently serving or honorably discharged service members across all branches including active duty, reserve, guard, and merchant marine, and associate membership to other family members and friends of service members.

Hosts monthly dinners for active military, veterans, and their families on the third Wednesday of each month and holds regular support meetings at Veterans Park in Bloomfield, NY, from September through June; also organizes community events such as the annual Christmas tree decoration in Kershaw Park with veteran participation and refreshments.

Offers a homelike gathering space with a working garden for veterans, supplies interview clothing, and raises funds to support treatment for wounded service members to help them return to a more normal life.
