Provides Roblox gaming sessions for youth at Broad Channel Library and supports teen engagement through STEAM-focused initiatives such as the SciArt Exchange: Build Your Habitat Challenge, which encourages design of future space communities.

Provides mental health workshops and resources for all ages during May, hosts teen-focused programs on coping strategies and self-advocacy, and makes a downloadable Teen Mental Health Month brochure available in branches.

Offers early childhood programs such as Dinosaur Discovery Playdates, Kick Off to Kindergarten, bilingual storytimes, and music and movement activities; also provides STEAM-focused Middle School Maker Clubs integrating art, engineering, and environmental thinking through hands-on building.

Makes printable virtual walking tour maps of historical sites in Queens available, maintains online access to Works Progress Administration (WPA) Federal Art Project prints and drawings, and hosts public programs related to the ecological history of Queens as part of the Before New York exhibition.

Provides lactation chairs and designated lactation areas across multiple branches, offers maternal health materials and programming, hosts virtual workshops like Baby Basics and New Mamas for expectant and new parents, and runs the QPL Baby initiative distributing baby kits at hospital discharge with a bib, library information, and branch map.

Uses the Queens Memory program to collect personal reflections and oral histories from residents about their World Cup experiences through community recording sessions starting June 13, 2026.

Manages acquisition of goods and services using formal processes such as Invitation for Bid, Request for Proposal, and Request for Information to support library functions.

Hires AI specialists and digital literacy specialists to train staff and deliver public workshops; implements “train-the-trainer” sessions to build internal capacity and enables staff to guide patrons in using AI tools and improve customer experience through AI integration.

Streams live soccer matches at 21 branch locations during the 2026 FIFA World Cup, hosts a World Cup Robotics Series for children using LEGO WeDo kits, and presents cultural events showcasing the art, music, and traditions of participating countries.

Contributes special-edition library cards, trading cards featuring all 66 branch locations, and commemorative materials for the FIFA World Cup and America’s 250th anniversary to the America 250 Time Capsule; also distributes a special edition trading card celebrating 250 years of American independence at all locations.
