How they approach the work

Named approaches extracted from this org’s sources. Where others share an approach, follow it to see the full set of orgs running it.

  • Holistic Sensory and Emotional Engagement
    methodology: sensory_emotional_engagement
By combining sensory stimulation (e.g., scent, music) with emotional and biographical elements, we create meaningful experiences in dementia care, because multi-modal engagement leverages enduring sensory and emotional memory pathways to foster connection where cognition is impaired.
  • Memory-Preservation for Identity Continuity
    methodology: memory_preservation
By preserving and using personal memories—such as stories, photos, music, and voice recordings—we help individuals with dementia maintain connection to their identity and enable caregivers to foster emotional recognition, because familiar stimuli strengthen neural and emotional pathways that endure beyond cognitive decline.
  • Person-Centered Dementia Care Through Life Stories
    methodology: person_centered_care
By integrating life stories and personal history into care routines, we improve emotional well-being and reduce agitation in individuals with dementia, because understanding a person’s identity and biography enables caregivers to deliver individualized, meaningful engagement that honors the whole person.
