How they approach the work

Named approaches extracted from this org’s sources. Where others share an approach, follow it to see the full set of orgs running it.

  • Assistance Dog Intervention Model
    methodology: assistance-dog-intervention
By providing trained assistance dogs to veterans and first responders with physical, sensory, or psychological disabilities, we improve independence and mental health outcomes because human-animal bonds enhance emotional regulation, reduce isolation, and enable daily task support.
  • Real-World Immersion Training
    methodology: real_world_immersion
By training veterans and service dogs together in real-world environments, we ensure successful integration into daily life because experiential learning in authentic settings builds confidence, reinforces adaptive behaviors, and prepares for actual challenges outside controlled facilities.
  • Stigma Reduction for Service Access
    methodology: stigma_reduction
By affirming eligibility for service dogs regardless of comparative hardship, we increase access among veterans because reducing self-stigma encourages help-seeking behavior and counters cultural barriers to accepting support.
