THE ORGANIZATION HOSTS EVENTS TO RAISE AWARENESS AND EDUCATION OF THE DISEASES THAT AFFECT THE MEMBERS. THE TRANSIT WORKER MEMBERS FACE UNUSUALLY RISKS IN THE DAILY COURSE OF THEIR WORK. JOB RELATED HAZARDS SUCH AS VEHICLE ACCIDENTS AND SITTING POSITION WHILE DRIVING ALL DAY. MANAGING IRATE-TROUBLESOME PASSENGERS IS A RISK WHILE DRIVING. CHRONIC WORK-RELATED DISEASES ARE A GREAT RISK AFFECTING TRANSIT WORKERS AS THEIR OCCUPATION FACES THE HIGHEST RISK OF CONTRACTING 10 COMMON DISEASES. APPROXIMATELY 42% OF TRANSIT WORKERS HAVE HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE THAT LEADS TO HEART ATTACKS AND STROKE.
