ADVANCING THE MARK MORRIS DANCE GROUP'S CORE VALUE OF ACCESS, THE DANCE CENTER REMOVES FINANCIAL BARRIERS FOR PARTICIPANTS IN ITS 180 WEEKLY CLASSES WITH LIVE MUSIC FOR ALL AGES AND ABILITIES. THIS INCLUDES ROBUST TUITION ASSISTANCE FOR YOUTH, INCLUDING A COMMITMENT TO PROVIDING FULL NEED-BASED SCHOLARSHIPS AND A TIERED TUITION SYSTEM OF FINANCIAL AID DESIGNED TO MAKE HIGH-QUALITY DANCE EDUCATION AVAILABLE TO ALL FAMILIES-REGARDLESS OF INCOME. DURING THE YEAR FY25 $186,690 OF PROGRAM FEES WERE REDUCED REPRESENTING 70% OF ALL STUDENTS RECEIVING FINANCIAL AID. SUBSIDY INITIATIVES FOR ADULT DANCERS OF ALL LEVELS, FROM BEGINNER TO PROFESSIONAL; AND FREE HEALTHY AGING CLASSES DESIGNED TO SUPPORT THE PHYSICAL, EMOTIONAL, AND SOCIAL WELL-BEING OF OLDER ADULTS. ALL CLASSES ARE INCLUSIVE, WELCOMING DISABLED AND NON-DISABLED STUDENTS ALIKE, WITH INSTRUCTION DESIGNED FOR A WIDE RANGE OF ABILITIES AND ACCOMMODATIONS PROVIDED AS NEEDED. TOGETHER, THESE PROGRAMS ENSURE THAT HIGH-QUALITY DANCE EDUCATION REMAINS ACCESSIBLE WHILE SUSTAINING EMPLOYMENT FOR APPROXIMATELY 170 TEACHING ARTISTS, ASSISTANT TEACHING ARTISTS, AND ACCOMPANISTS IN ADDITION TO ADMINISTRATIVE AND FACILITIES PROFESSIONALS. THE DANCE CENTER ALSO SERVES AS A VITAL RESOURCE FOR THE BROADER DANCE AND MUSIC ECOSYSTEM THROUGH ITS ARTIST SERVICES: THE MARK MORRIS DANCE ACCOMPANIMENT TRAINING PROGRAM, WHICH PREPARES ADVANCED AND PROFESSIONAL MUSICIANS TO ACCOMPANY DANCE CLASSES ACROSS GENRES AND WILL BE FURTHER STRENGTHENED IN FY27 THROUGH THE LEADERSHIP OF THE DANCE CENTER MUSIC DIRECTOR; AND THE SUBSIDIZED REHEARSAL SPACE PROGRAM, WHICH PROVIDES DEEPLY DISCOUNTED STUDIO RENTALS FOR HUNDREDS OF CHOREOGRAPHERS EACH YEAR, SUPPORTING MORE THAN 5,000 INSTANCES OF ARTISTS WORKING IN THE STUDIO ANNUALLY.

RECOGNIZED INTERNATIONALLY AS A MODEL ARTS IN HEALTH INITIATIVE, DANCE FOR PD SERVES 1,900 NEW YORKERS ANNUALLY THROUGH FREE IN-PERSON CLASSES AND COMMUNITY PROGRAMS AND REACHES AN ADDITIONAL 9,000 INDIVIDUALS WORLDWIDE THROUGH ONLINE OFFERINGS. SINCE 2007, ITS TEACHER TRAINING INITIATIVE HAS PREPARED OVER 2,500 TEACHING ARTISTS AND EXTENDED THE PROGRAM'S GLOBAL REACH TO MORE THAN 20,000 PEOPL EIN 450 COMMUNITIES ACROSS 30 COUNTRIES.
