TO PROVIDE ASSISTANCE TO THE RESIDENTS OF THE TOWN OF SMITHTOWN WHO ARE ILL OR ARE IN NEED OF MEDICAL APPLIANCES, EQUIPMENT OR FUNDS WITH WHICH TO PAY FOR MEDICINE, MEDICAL, SUGICAL, NURSING OR HOSPITAL CARE COSTS. THIS ASSISTANCE IS PROVIDED BY PAYMENT FROM THE FUNDS OF THE SOCIETY OR LOANING ARTICLES OF NURSING AID AND EQIPMENT WHICH SUCH RESIDENTS MAY NEED FOR COMFORT OR AID DURING THE DURATION OF THEIR ILLNESS.IN ADDITION, THE SOCIETY CONTRIBUTES FUNDS AND OR SUPPLIES TO HOSPITALS OR OTHER LIKE ORGANIZATIONS WITHIN THE TOWN OF SMITHTOWN TO THE EXTENT THE FUNDS OF THE SOCIETY SHALL PERMIT AND THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS DEEM IS ADVISABLE.
